Indeed, it is precisely our challenge to imagine the next step in our human evolution. Over eons, we evolved sight and language and imagination and compassion and politics — but there is more evolving left to do, if we can just survive to do it.
Our souls are still willful toddlers.
They need to evolve out of singleminded selfishness and unchecked appetite — simple as that. Teilhard’s prophetic vision is our best hope.
